We were approached by a long-standing client to assist with the full steelwork package at Auckland’s premier venue Eden Park.

The work was for a CC3 category structure that consists of structural columns connected back to the existing eastern stand, then 2m wide * 2.5m high * 43m truss split into 3 sections to lock in columns and provide a rigid base for the upper frames.

The upper frames are 2.9m long*2.0m wide*8.5m high and there was 11 in total to install that were prefabricated complete with cladding & roofing. The structure is currently the largest television screen in New Zealand & has already been viewed by millions around the world watching the mighty All Blacks.

The installation of the full project exceeded expectations both in duration onsite & the quality of the finished product. Our fabrication tolerances and pre-site checks enabled the full structure to be fully aligned within 5mm & ensured minimum impacts on the local community / roads due to the ahead of schedule completion.

Installation was planned and thought through at the design and drawing stages which enabled safety lines to be installed in the frames prior, grating to be installed in each frame & connection joints to be adjusted to ensure access onsite was achievable, safe and in line with the design requirements.
